[Immediately FREE] Wholesome Weekend Date Movie (Nov. 4, 2016)

This weekend I am back to my more regular format, but what I will do that is still a bit different is recommend two different versions of the same story.

It's called, "Of Mice and Men" and is based on the classic book of the same name written by John Steinbeck.

BOOK COVER

Directly below are the LINKS to the original 1939 version, which in my opinion is the best and also the LINK to the 1992 version, which is also extremely well made.

"Of Mice and Men" 1939 Version

"Of Mice and Men" 1992 Version

Gary Sinise (Director/Actor), John Malkovich

One of the things I like to encourage people who are dating to do is actually TALK to each other. So after you have seen both versions of this film, it might be interesting to discuss (not argue) about which one each of you liked the best.

Whether it's the book or a film version, this is a classic example of a story that has it ALL. What I like the most about it is it's universal themes: We all need to keep our dreams alive, we need to feel valued, our basic need to be loved unconditionally, friendship, compassion, sacrifice, and on and on.

Also, this story appeals equally to men and women. It's the ultimate  "buddy" film, but women will also find much, much to relate to as well. But it does have a few sad moments so men might have to remember the phrase,
"I'm not crying. I've just got something in my eye."

However, [to the men] while your girlfriend/spouse is crying you will have the opportunity to do a lot of  'comforting' and demonstrate how 'sensitive' you are.
    So it's all good!

Thanks for stopping in again and I hope you all have a great weekend.

Sincerely, Laura-Lee

"The Trap" Full Film for FREE from YouTube

Found film "The Trap" for FREE at YouTube.

The Trap Full Film FREE from YouTube

Oscar-caliber performances by Brits, Oliver Reed & Rita Tushingham about a French Canadian trapper who buys himself a wife (struck silent when she was a child, due to witnessing a raid by Native Indians). He takes her out to his cabin in the Canadian wilderness, which she is NOT thrilled about.

She originally keeps trying to escape but gradually they start realizing how much they really need each other to survive.

This movie is definitely a MUST SEE! I give it the highest rating I give any film (9/10  *********) Also has to have a PG due to some violence but otherwise the entire family can see it.

I couldn't add it to my "Complete Films Play List" at my YouTube Channel fast enough. Go immediately and let yourself really enjoy a movie that will sweep you away by its performances & story within mere seconds.

My Complete Films Play List

Realized my Play List of Full Films I watch (and save) at YouTube is getting long and full of very good movies. So I thought I would "tidy" it up, add some comments, some ratings (see the amount of asterisks out of a possible 10) and then share them with you.

Although most are for adults they are still "safe" for viewing by your entire family and will be enjoyed by men & women alike.

Hope you enjoy them. There is something for every persons' tastes. From Romantic - Tear Jerkers to Thrillers.

Have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Sabbath as we approach tomorrow to focus on the Lord and leave all our worries in His big, capable, comforting, compassionate hands ... for at least one day.

Love Always; for my Friends.
Sincerely, Laura-Lee

And if you are looking for a good idea for a "Date Night" film without a bunch of embarrassing graphic sex scenes remember to check out my List/Reviews/Recommendations at IMDb. That's expanding too. See Link below.

My FIRST How to Video about Closed Captioning (CC) with YouTube

I went on and on about how EVERYONE should put CC (or Closed Captioning) also known as "Subtitles" on their YouTube Videos. It's Easy.

So I got some requests that I make a "How to" video about "How to" Upload and CC at YouTube. Which is just what I did.

(and of course I CC the "How to video of CC")

(CC with CC. Which I believe in the same idea of a video, within a video, within a video = Infinity).

So here is my "how to UPLOAD & add CC with the YouTube CC functions"

Hope you like it. (It's my first time. Be gentle with me and ... leave a comment.)

CC ("Closed Captioning") SDH on YouTube

If you are a person who uploads videos to YouTube please consider adding "Closed Captioning" (CC) or "Subtitles for Deaf & Hard of Hearing" (SDH) to the videos you UPLOAD.

YouTube has made this very easy and has several ways for this to be done. You can type it in manually OR they even have an automated program that can understand most of what is being said in a video you UPLOAD and will automatically add CC.  (often with humorous results as the computer tries to "guess" what a person is saying).

Almost 70 % of People in North America have some form of hearing impairment but besides that, if you take the time to attach CC it will make your video appear in more Search Engines designed to look for this attachment.

INSTRUCTIONS:  When you UPLOAD your video to YouTube simple click on the EDIT button and you will see a LINK for the "adding CC" option. From there just pick one of the 3 ways it can be done. Even if you just let the YouTube Program designed for this automatically do it, it helps and only takes a few seconds and a couple extra clicks.

For more detailed instructions follow the LINKs below to YouTube "How To ..." videos.

"BRAVE" Film is BEAUTIFUL

PIXAR has done it again. Their new film, "Brave" was released in theatres on June 22, 2012 and is now another official notch on their sword hilt or an arrow in their quiver. I haven't seen it yet, but I dare anyone to view the trailer, any commercial or a promo for this film and NOT want to see it.

I surmize that this story must be "grrreat" due solely to the caliber of actors and artists involved in the making of this film. Academy award winners and nominees aplenty. These people don't spend a couple years of their time working on a film unless it has captured their interest and their hearts.

I must make another observation. I have become tremendously awe struck at the level of talent that goes into the visual aspects of creating an animated film these days. If you freeze any frame of the movie you will be looking at a work of art worthy of hanging in any museum or gallery. From graphic novels (aka. comic books to us old-timers) to animated films (aka. cartoons to us old-timers) there is practically nothing a person can conceive in their imagination that cannot be brought to fruition on a movie, TV or computer screen. It's a "Brave" new world and I'm happy to see that something of lasting quality is being created by it's people.

Please follow the links below to check out the film, "Brave" and don't be shy to comment at the end of this post.
